S8UL, a merger between India’s two of the best PUBG Mobile or BGMI esports teams is having a tough time both on and off the gaming arena. It all started with the disbanding of the team SouL’s Battlegrounds Mobile India roster and now things are not going well in the S8UL.
About S8UL
S8UL is formed By former PUBG Mobile esports player Animesh Agarwal aka 8bit Thug, he shares S8UL ownership with Naman Mathur aka Soul Mortal, and Lokesh Jain aka 8bit Goldy. More than 10 popular content creators work with S8UL right now. They have a huge Bootcamp in Mumbai for esports athletes.
The Battlegrounds Mobile India roster of team SouL is powered by S8UL. S8UL is currently India’s most successful PUBG Mobile team with three national-level championships. Two of those were won by SouL and 8bit won the PUBG Mobile India tour. Many famous content creators like Scout, Mavi, Mamba, Regaltos work with S8UL.
The problem behind S8UL breakdown
Team soul announced their Battlegrounds Mobile India roster in July, a star-studded lineup of Scout, Mavi, Mortal, Regaltos, and Viper. Recently co-owner and leader of team soul, Naman Mathur aka Soul mortal announced on his youtube Livestream that soul is going to disband their lineup due to lack of in-game synergy between teammates. Scout and Mavi will leave soul and Regaltos, Viper, and Mortal will continue with the team.
This news sparked the flame of controversy, later which was fueled by one of S8UL’s co-owner Lokesh Jain aka 8bit Goldy. In his recent youtube Livestream, he stated that ‘he will not continue as the co-owner of S8UL and he will not take any decision or will not give any command to others. He will continue till the 30th of October and from 1st November he will just work with the admin panel. Mortal and Thug will lead S8UL entirely from November.’
Although, he will remain the co-owner of 8bit creatives, which is a talent management company led by 8bit Thug and Goldy. He also gave some clarifications about the disband of soul’s BGMI lineup. He said that ‘he never knew about the disband, he was at Jaipur when he heard the news‘. He also defended Mavi and Scout from unnecessary hate after leaving the team. He said it was a mutual decision taken for the betterment of the team and the players. He also indirectly accused the fans of the disbanding of the team since players were not performing as expected and fans were losing patience.
Team SOUL is an Indian BGMI team led by one of the famous Indian streamers Mortal ( Naman Mathur) and powered by S8UL Esports. The current owners are Soul Mortal, 8Bit Thug and 8Bit Goldy. Almost every BGMI fan would’ve heard the name of team SOUL. Winning back to back PMIS 2019 and PMCO Spring Split: India they have hard-earned fame and name in Indian eSports. After the successful event at Dreamhack 8Bit Thug encouraged them to form a professional Esports team that’s how team Soul formed. Most of the S8UL members are streamers themselves and run the biggest gaming youtube channels in India. Soul Mortal alone has 7.05 Million subscribers. They were the first team to build their own bootcamp and with the support of any big organization Soul and 8Bit created one of India’s biggest Esports organization “S8UL Esports”. They have always supported players from the gaming community and are the flag bearers of Esports in India. Currently their BGMI team is managed by Sid Joshi aka Savage Sid.
Team And Roster
Team Soul was formed by 4 individuals to compete in DreamHack Mumbai 2018. The iconic team consisted of Mortal, Viper, Rounak and Owais. The team has always produced superstars like Regaltos and Clutchgod. Big names like ScoutOP, Mavi, Gill, Aman and Sangwan have also competed under the name of team Soul. Recently, the team participated in BGIS 2021 and the team consisted of Viper, Roxx, YuvaOP and Viru. But the team could not reach the finals so the management decided to create a new and aggressive team. The current team is performing really well in various tournaments and the fans are expecting the old form and dominance from the team.
Soul Esports has earned a special place in the hearts of the Indian gaming community throughout this year’s. Any kid from the 2017 -2018 era remembers that last second clutch from mortal or the brotherly duo of Ronak and Owais. Little attention is given towards the origin of this organisation.
After earning an extraordinary place in dreamhack 2018 , Animesh Agarwal aka 8bit thug pushed his way through for the creation of what we know as team SOUL. Team SOUL was the first team to set up a bootcamp to nurture young talents and earn their way into fame. Their zeal and pure passion for the game pushed them and established team SOUL as a permanent force to reckon.
