3 students drown in Dholidhaja dam

Three teenagers drowned in the Dholidhaja dam of Surendranagar district on Saturday afternoon. The bodies of the deceased — Tejals Kukadia (17), Mahesh Bhalgama and Shreyansh Detroj (18) were recovered by the fire brigade team only on Sunday afternoon. 
All three deceased were students, said the police after primary investigation. According to the police, five friends from Surendranagar town had come to Dholidhaja dam for picnic on Saturday. 
They all went into the water to beat the summer heat, but three boys went deeper into the water and got sucked in by the heavy undercurrent, said the police. The two boys informed the locals, who called the police and fire brigade officials. A search operation continued till late in the night at the dam, but could not locate the missing boys. On Sunday, after fire officials resumed the search operation, they found the bodies of the teenagers floating at a distance.

A unique fashion show was organized in Surat, Gujarat on Saturday with the motive to bring awareness towards third-gender people (transgenders) and to create a positive environment for them in society.

The show organiser, Shweta said, “This is the first time a fashion show has been organized in Gujarat for the third gender. The main motive behind this show is that they are also a part of our society so we should also treat them equally. They also have a lot of talent and they can also contribute to our society like us, but for that, we need to take the initiative. So this initiative has been taken for the first time in Surat.

Noori Kunwar, a transgender, “There is a need for equality in the society. Yes, we all want that we all remain united, but equality is yet to come somewhere, especially for my community. I want to tell people that if a transgender child is born in your house then make them educated, and develop their talent. We have many qualities which if developed and brought in front of people, will shine like Kohinoor diamond.”

17 year old Girl missing from Paldi shelter home

A 17 year old girl from Sanand living at the Paldi shelter home since March 10,fled in the wee hours on Friday.Kalpana Soni,57,warden of the shelter home.

As one of them delivered a baby, she was given a separate room and the other nine were living in one room.

She said she made a round of the home and saw all the girls at around 2:30AM on Friday. At 5AM, a girl from the house told Soni that the 17 year old from Sanand was missing. She said in the FIR that the girl had unscrewed the door latch and fled.Soni and other staffers tried to find her,but in vain
